Bacteriostatic water is sterile water for injection that contains 0.9% benzyl
alcohol as a preservative. It is commonly used as a diluent for reconstituting
lyophilized (freeze-dried) medications or peptides.
Function:
  • Dilutes or reconstitutes powdered compounds
  • Benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth after vial entry
  • Allows multi-dose use when handled under sterile conditions
